A gel-forming fiber from a root vegetable. Konjac is a root vegetable of Asia, and glucomannan is its soluble fiber. Glucomannan absorbs many times its weight in water and swells into a thick gel.
The Dose On The Label
Konjac Extract Fiber (Std. 90% Glucomannan): 50 mg per capsule. Glucomannan is the best known fiber in weight supplements, though research uses grams a day while a capsule holds 50 mg.
Good To Know
Glucomannan must be taken with plenty of water, because it can swell in the throat. Skip it with swallowing problems, and ask your pharmacist about spacing it from medicines.
